Salmon

Orange-Miso Glaze

Method

Salmon Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Salmon

Rub the salmon fillets with olive oil, salt, and black pepper on both sides. Let them marinate for about 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Cook the Salmon

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the salmon fillets for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through and flaky.

Vegetable Stir-Fry Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Rice

In a pot, combine the basmati rice and water. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 15 minutes until the water is absorbed. Fluff with a fork and set aside.

  2. 4

    Stir-Fry the Vegetables

In a large skillet or wok, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for 1 minute. Add sliced bell pepper, broccoli florets, and sliced carrot. Stir-fry for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp.

  3. 5

    Add Soy Sauce

Pour in the soy sauce and stir to coat the vegetables. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.

Orange-Miso Glaze Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Glaze

In a small bowl, whisk together miso paste, fresh orange juice, honey, and rice vinegar until smooth and well combined.

  2. 7

    Glaze the Salmon

During the last minute of cooking the salmon, brush the orange-miso glaze over the fillets and allow it to caramelize slightly.

  3. 8

    Garnish

Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the salmon just before serving.
