Strawberry-Banana Smoothie Base

Method

Prepare Ingredients

1

Hull and halve the strawberries; measure out banana, Greek yogurt, almond milk, maple syrup (or honey), and lemon juice so they are ready to add to the blender.

2

Measure the rolled oats, chia seeds, and peanut butter; if using protein powder, have one scoop measured and ready.

Blend Smoothie

3

Layer ingredients

In a high-speed blender, add the almond milk first (this helps the blades move), then the Greek yogurt, banana chunks, strawberries, maple syrup, and lemon juice.

4

Add boosters and ice

Add the rolled oats, chia seeds, peanut butter, and protein powder (if using). Then add the ice cubes on top.

5

Secure the lid and blend on medium-high for 30–45 seconds until smooth and creamy. If the mixture is too thick, add 2–4 tablespoons (30–60 ml) of additional almond milk and blend another 10–15 seconds. If too thin, add one more ice cube or an extra tablespoon of oats and blend until desired texture is reached.

Finish & Serve

6

Taste the smoothie and adjust sweetness if needed—add up to 1/2 teaspoon more maple syrup or honey and pulse briefly to combine.

7

Pour the smoothie into a tall glass (about 16 oz capacity). Garnish with the strawberry slices on the rim and mint sprigs if using.

8

Serve immediately with a reusable straw. Stir before drinking if ingredients have settled.
