Method
For the glass
Prepare glass
If desired, chill your glass in the refrigerator for a few minutes or rinse it with cold water. This step is optional but helps keep the water colder longer.
Add ice (optional)
Place 0–3 ice cubes into the glass depending on how cold you want the water. Use no ice if you prefer room-temperature water.
Pour water
Pour 1 cup (250 ml) of cold drinking water into the glass. If using bottled or filtered water, pour directly from the container; if using tap water, ensure it is safe to drink.
Serve immediately. Enjoy plain or with your chosen garnish and ice.
For serving (optional)
Prepare pitcher
If serving multiple people, use a chilled pitcher. Add 1,000 ml (about 4 cups) of chilled drinking water to the pitcher.
Add ice and garnishes (optional)
Add up to 6 ice pieces, 1 halved lemon, and 2 sprigs of fresh mint to the pitcher for a lightly flavored, cold water. Gently stir to distribute.
Keep cold
Keep the pitcher in the refrigerator or on a bed of ice until ready to serve to maintain temperature.
Pour into individual glasses prepared as above and enjoy.
