Mushroom Preparation

Method

Mushroom Preparation

1

Prepare the Mushrooms

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Gently clean the large mushrooms with a damp cloth to remove any dirt. Carefully remove the stems from the mushrooms and set them aside.

2

Sauté the Mushroom Caps

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the mushroom caps, gill side down, and sauté for about 5 minutes until they are lightly browned. Remove from skillet and set aside.

3

Chop the Stems

Finely chop the reserved mushroom stems and set aside for the stuffing.

Stuffing Mixture

4

Prepare the Stuffing

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, chopped basil, chopped mushroom stems, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs. Mix well until all ingredients are fully combined and form a cohesive mixture.

5

Stuff the Mushroom Caps

Using a spoon, generously fill each sautéed mushroom cap with the stuffing mixture, packing it in lightly to ensure it holds together.

Baking

6

Bake the Stuffed Mushrooms

Place the stuffed mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the mushrooms are cooked through.

7

Serve

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your savory stuffed mushrooms warm!
