Prepare the Burger Patty

Mix the Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Form the Patties
Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.
Cook the Burger

Add Cheese
Flip the patties and place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness.
Assemble the Burger

Prepare the Vegetables
While the burgers are cooking, wash and slice the tomato and red onion. Prepare the lettuce and pickles.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of each hamburger bun, layer the lettuce, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, slices of tomato, red onion, and pickles. Add your preferred condiments on top, then place the top half of the bun.
