Super Tuscan Wine Ingredients
Method
Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvesting Grapes
Harvest Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot grapes when they are fully ripe, ensuring to select only the best quality grapes.
- 2
Crushing and Destemming
Crush the harvested grapes gently and remove the stems. This can be done using a grape crusher or by hand.
- 3
Fermentation
Transfer the crushed grapes into a fermentation vessel and add the red wine yeast. Allow the mixture to ferment for 7-14 days, stirring daily.
- 4
Pressing
After fermentation, press the mixture to separate the wine from the grape skins. Use a wine press for best results.
- 5
Aging
Transfer the wine into oak barrels or stainless steel tanks for aging. Allow the wine to age for at least 6 months to develop its flavors.
- 6
Bottling
Once the aging process is complete, bottle the wine, ensuring to add sulfur dioxide if desired for preservation.
