Ingredients for Menabrea Bionda Italian Craft Blonde Ale
Method
Brewing Directions for Menabrea Bionda Italian Craft Blonde Ale
- 1
Mashing
Heat 5 liters of water to around 68°C (155°F). Add the Pilsner and Vienna malts to the water and maintain the temperature for 60 minutes. Stir occasionally to ensure even temperature distribution.
- 2
Sparging
After mashing, sparge the grains with hot water (around 75°C or 167°F) to rinse out the sugars. Collect the wort in a kettle.
- 3
Boiling
Bring the wort to a boil. Add Hallertau hops at the beginning of the boil and Saaz hops with 15 minutes remaining in the boil. Boil for a total of 60 minutes.
- 4
Cooling
After boiling, cool the wort quickly using a wort chiller or an ice bath until it reaches about 20°C (68°F).
- 5
Fermentation
Transfer the cooled wort to a sanitized fermentation vessel. Pitch the yeast and seal with an airlock. Ferment at a temperature of around 12-15°C (54-59°F) for about 2 weeks.
- 6
Bottling
After fermentation is complete, dissolve priming sugar in a small amount of water and add it to the beer. Bottle the beer using sanitized bottles and caps.
- 7
Conditioning
Let the bottled beer condition at room temperature for about 2 weeks to carbonate. After that, chill and enjoy your homemade Menabrea Bionda!
