  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugar

In another bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy.

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  5. 5

    Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients

Alternate adding the dry ingredient mixture and milk to the butter mixture, starting and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Fold in Sprinkles

Gently fold in the rainbow sprinkles until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

  7. 7

    Bake the Cakes

Divide the batter evenly between the two prepared cake pans and smooth the tops. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  8. 8

    Cool the Cakes

Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes. Then, transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
