Beer Ingredients

Method

Brewing Process

  1. 1

    Mashing

In a large brew kettle, heat 20 liters of water to 68°C (154°F). Add the malted barley and hold the temperature for 60 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  2. 2

    Lautering

After mashing, transfer the mixture to a lauter tun and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse the grains with hot water to extract more sugars.

  3. 3

    Boiling

Bring the wort to a boil and add hops. Boil for 60 minutes, adding more hops at the 30-minute mark for aroma.

  4. 4

    Cooling

Cool the wort quickly to about 20°C (68°F) using a wort chiller.

  5. 5

    Fermentation

Transfer the cooled wort to a fermentation vessel and add the yeast. Seal and let ferment at 10-12°C (50-54°F) for 2 weeks.

  6. 6

    Bottling

After fermentation is complete, add corn sugar for carbonation, transfer the beer to bottles, and cap them.

  7. 7

    Aging

Let the bottles age at room temperature for 1-2 weeks before refrigerating.

  8. 8

    Enjoy

Serve chilled in a pint glass and enjoy your homemade Creemore Springs Premium Lager!
