Preparing the Coffee Mixture

Brew 2 cups of strong coffee and allow it to cool. Mix in 2 tablespoons of espresso powder until fully dissolved.
Making the Filling

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 4 egg yolks and 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar until the mixture is pale and creamy.

Add Mascarpone
Gently fold in 16 ounces of mascarpone cheese until fully incorporated and smooth.

Whip the Heavy Cream
In a separate bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Combine Mixtures
Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture carefully to maintain the lightness.

Add Vanilla
Stir in 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
Assembling the Tiramisu

Dip Ladyfingers
Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.

Layer the Cookies
Arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers in the bottom of a 9x13 inch dish.

Spread Filling
Spread half of the mascarpone filling over the layer of ladyfingers.

Repeat with another layer of soaked ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone filling.

Dust the top of the tiramisu with 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings.

Cover and refrigerate the tiramisu for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow flavors to meld and set.
