Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Lasagna Noodles

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the lasagna noodles and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Cheese Filling

In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, Romano cheese, eggs, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined and set aside.

  3. 3

    Make the Meat Sauce

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and minced garlic; sauté until the onion is translucent. Add the ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 4

    Layer the Lasagna

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom. Place three lasagna noodles on top, followed by half of the cheese filling, and another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers (noodles, cheese filling, meat sauce) until all ingredients are used, finishing with a layer of meat sauce on top.

  2. 5

    Add Topping

Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese evenly over the top layer of meat sauce.

  3. 6

    Bake the Lasagna

Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
