Espresso Ingredients

Method

Espresso Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Espresso Machine

Start by ensuring your espresso machine is clean and ready for use. Fill the water reservoir with filtered water and turn the machine on to allow it to heat up.

  2. 2

    Measure the Coffee

Using a digital scale, measure 18 grams of freshly ground espresso coffee. The grind should be fine, resembling table salt.

  3. 3

    Tamp the Coffee

Place the ground coffee into the portafilter. Use a tamper to press down firmly and evenly on the coffee grounds to create a compact puck.

  4. 4

    Insert the Portafilter

Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine's group head.

  5. 5

    Brew the Espresso

Start the brewing process and let the espresso extract for about 25-30 seconds until you have approximately 60 ml of espresso in your cup.

  6. 6

    Serve and Enjoy

Once brewed, serve the espresso in a demi-tasse cup. Enjoy it as is or with a sprinkle of sugar or a dash of milk, if desired.
