Dough Preparation

Activate Yeast
In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

Make Dough
In a large bowl, mix flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Combine until a dough forms.

Knead Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Combine Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta, mozzarella, Romano cheese, prosciutto, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix well.
Calzone Assembly

Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

Shape Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into 4 equal portions. Roll each portion out into a circle about 10 inches in diameter.

Fill Calzones
Place a generous amount of filling on one half of each dough circle. Fold the other half over and seal the edges by pressing with a fork.

Bake Calzones
Transfer the calzones to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
