Soda Base (per bottle)

Garnishes & Optional Add-ins

Method

Make Cane Sugar Simple Syrup

1

Prepare syrup

Combine equal parts cane sugar and water in a small saucepan (for example 1 cup sugar + 1 cup water) and heat gently, stirring until sugar dissolves. Bring just to a simmer for 1 minute, then remove from heat and cool completely. Store refrigerated in a sealed jar for up to 2 weeks.

Assemble Mexican-Style Cola (Coca-Cola)

2

Chill glass and ingredients

Ensure your sparkling water and syrup are well chilled. If desired, chill a 12 oz glass bottle or serving glass in the fridge for 10–15 minutes.

3

Combine flavors

In a chilled 12 oz bottle or glass, add 1.5 tablespoons cane sugar simple syrup and 1 teaspoon cola flavor concentrate (or 1 tsp strong brewed black tea mixed with a pinch of ground cinnamon, a tiny pinch of ground nutmeg, and 1/8 tsp vanilla extract). Add 1 teaspoon caramel color if you want the classic cola hue.

4

Top with carbonation

Slowly pour 12 oz cold carbonated water into the bottle or glass over the back of a spoon (or pour gently down the side) to preserve fizz. Stir very gently or roll the bottle between your hands to blend the syrup without flattening the carbonation.

5

Finish & serve

Taste and adjust sweetness with another 1/2 tablespoon syrup if needed. Garnish with an optional lime wedge or mint sprig. Serve immediately cold.

Assemble Mexican-Style Lemon-Lime (Sprite)

6

Chill glass and ingredients

Ensure sparkling water and syrup are chilled; chill a 12 oz bottle or serving glass if desired.

7

Combine flavors

In the chilled bottle or glass, add 1.5 tablespoons cane sugar simple syrup and 1 teaspoon fresh lime juice (and optionally a 1/8 teaspoon lemon extract for extra sharpness).

8

Top with carbonation

Slowly add 12 oz cold carbonated water to preserve fizz. Stir gently once to incorporate.

9

Finish & serve

Taste and add up to 1/2 tablespoon more syrup if you prefer sweeter. Garnish with a lime wedge and serve immediately over ice if desired.

Assemble Mexican-Style Orange (Fanta)

10

Chill glass and ingredients

Make sure sparkling water and syrup are chilled; chill a 12 oz bottle or serving glass if desired.

11

Combine flavors

In the chilled bottle or glass, combine 1.5 tablespoons cane sugar simple syrup with 1 teaspoon orange extract or 1 teaspoon fresh orange juice. For a brighter orange note, add a drop of lemon juice or a pinch of citric acid (optional).

12

Top with carbonation

Slowly pour 12 oz cold carbonated water into the bottle or glass. Gently stir once to mix without losing carbonation.

13

Finish & serve

Adjust sweetness to taste with up to 1/2 tablespoon additional syrup. Garnish with an orange slice and serve immediately over ice if desired.
