Dough
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- 2
Mix Ingredients
Add olive oil, flour, and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a dough begins to form.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let it Rise
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Red Sauce
- 5
- 6
Combine Ingredients
Add crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Stir to combine.
- 7
Simmer the Sauce
Reduce heat to low and let the sauce simmer for about 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assemble the Pizza
- 8
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
- 9
Shape the Dough
Once the dough has risen, punch it down and transfer to a floured surface. Roll or stretch the dough to your desired thickness.
- 10
Add Sauce and Toppings
Spread a generous amount of the red sauce over the dough. Layer with shredded cheddar, mozzarella, and provolone cheeses, followed by slices of Volpi pepperoni and pickled jalapenos.
- 11
Bake the Pizza
Transfer the assembled pizza to the oven (or onto the preheated pizza stone). Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 12
Cool and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Slice and serve hot.
