Pulled Pork Preparation

Prepare the Pork
Season the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Rub the spices all over the meat.

Cook the Pork
Place the seasoned pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add water and half of the barbecue sauce. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender and easily shredded.

Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks. Mix in the remaining barbecue sauce until well combined.

Prepare the Bread
Butter one side of each slice of sourdough bread.

Assemble the Sandwich
On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer shredded pulled pork, muenster cheese, and pickles. Top with the other two slices, buttered side facing out.

Slice and Serve
Remove the sandwiches from the skillet, slice in half, and serve warm.
