Cocktail

1

Chill glass (optional)

Place the highball glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to chill it, then discard the ice water before assembling.

2

Combine ingredients

Add 2 oz Grey Goose vodka, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.25 oz simple syrup to a cocktail shaker filled halfway with ice. If you do not have a shaker, use a mixing glass.

3

Shake

Secure the shaker and shake vigorously for about 10–12 seconds until the outside of the shaker becomes cold (or stir in the mixing glass for 15–20 seconds if not shaking).

4

Prepare glass

Fill the chilled highball glass with fresh cubed ice (about 1 cup).

5

Strain and top

Strain the shaken cocktail into the prepared glass over the ice. Top with about 2 oz club soda. Gently stir once with a bar spoon to combine.

6

Garnish and serve

Garnish with a lime wheel or wedge and a sprig of mint if desired. Serve immediately.

Tools

7

Use a jigger to measure spirits and syrups for accuracy. Use a strainer when pouring from the shaker to keep ice shards out of the finished drink. A bar spoon is used for gentle stirring after topping with club soda.
