KIDS SPAG - Ingredients
Method
KIDS SPAG - Directions
- 1
Boil pasta
Bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil in a large pot. Add a pinch of salt, then stir in 2 cups of dry spaghetti. Cook according to package directions until al dente (about 8–10 minutes). Drain the pasta and set aside, saving about 1 cup of pasta water.
- 2
Heat the sauce base
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon olive oil over medium heat.
- 3
Sauté aromatics
Add 1 small onion (diced) and 2 garlic cloves (minced) to the skillet. Sauté until onion is translucent and fragrant.
- 4
Cook turkey
Add 1.5 cups cooked ground turkey to the skillet. Cook until browned and heated through, breaking it into crumbles as it cooks.
- 5
Add sauce and season
Stir in 680 ml tomato sauce with 0.5 tsp salt, 0.25 tsp black pepper, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning. Simmer the sauce for 10–15 minutes to let flavors meld.
- 6
Adjust consistency
If the sauce looks thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water (up to 1 cup) to loosen it to your preferred consistency.
- 7
Combine and finish
Toss the cooked pasta with the sauce in the pot until evenly coated. If needed, add more pasta water to reach desired sauciness.
- 8
Serve with parmesan
Divide the spaghetti between bowls and top with 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese. Optional: garnish with a pinch of extra pepper or fresh herbs.
