Baguette

Honey Butter

Method

Preparing Honey Butter

  1. 1

    Cream the Butter

In a mixing bowl, add 1 cup of unsalted butter and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes until softened. Use a hand mixer or a spatula to cream the butter until smooth.

  2. 2

    Add Honey and Salt

Add 1 tablespoon of honey and a pinch of salt to the creamed butter. Mix well until the honey is fully incorporated and the mixture is fluffy.

  3. 3

    Chill the Mixture

Transfer the honey butter to a small container and refrigerate for about 15 minutes to firm up slightly before spreading.

Toasting the Baguette

  1. 4

    Prepare the Baguette

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Take the baguette and slice it into 1-inch thick pieces, making sure not to cut all the way through the loaf if you want to keep it together for presentation.

  2. 5

    Toast the Baguette

Arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the edges are golden and crispy, flipping halfway through for even toasting.

Serving

  1. 6

    Spread and Serve

Remove the toasted baguette from the oven and let cool for a minute. Spread a generous amount of honey butter on each slice, then serve with your choice of fruit jam on the side for dipping or spreading.
