Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prep the Bread

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the stale bread into 1-inch cubes and set aside in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Cream and Milk

In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk and heavy cream until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine Sugar and Eggs

In another bowl, whisk the granulated sugar and eggs together until smooth. Add the vanilla extract and salt, mixing until fully incorporated.

Assembling the Bread Pudding

  1. 4

    Combine All Ingredients

Pour the milk and cream mixture into the bowl with the bread cubes. Gently fold in the egg mixture until the bread is fully soaked. Then, add the diced apples, ground cinnamon, dried cranberries, and chopped walnuts, gently mixing to combine.

Baking

  1. 5

    Bake the Mixture

Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean.

Serving

  1. 6

    Prepare the Topping

Once baked, remove the dish from the oven and allow it to cool slightly. Dust the top with powdered sugar and serve warm with whipped cream.
