Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Wash and Prepare Spinach

Thoroughly wash the fresh spinach under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Mince Garlic and Shallot

Peel the garlic cloves and mince them finely. Peel the shallot and chop it into small pieces.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sauté Shallot and Garlic

Add the minced garlic and chopped shallot to the skillet. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, until they are fragrant and the shallot becomes translucent.

  3. 5

    Add Spinach

Add the washed spinach to the skillet in batches, allowing it to wilt down before adding more. This will take about 3-5 minutes.

  4. 6

    Season the Spinach

Once all the spinach is added and wilted, season with 1 teaspoon of salt and black pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.

  5. 7

    Finish with Lemon Juice

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Toss gently to combine before serving.
