Method

Prepare the Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

  3. 3

    Combine Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.

Cook the Pancakes

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease the surface with a bit of butter or cooking spray.

  2. 5

    Cook Pancakes

Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until you see bubbles forming on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the pancakes and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Keep Warm

Transfer the cooked pancakes to a plate and keep them warm in a preheated oven at 200°F (95°C) while you cook the remaining batter.

Serve

  1. 7

    Plate the Pancakes

Stack the pancakes on a serving plate.

  2. 8

    Add Toppings

Drizzle with maple syrup and top with fresh berries before serving.
