Dry Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Preheat the Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). This will ensure that your cookies bake evenly.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

  3. 3

    Cream Butter and Sugars

In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

  4. 4

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then add the vanilla extract and mix until fully incorporated.

  5. 5

    Combine Mixtures

Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix.

  6. 6

    Fold in Chocolate Chips

Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Baking

  1. 7

    Scoop and Bake

Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.

  2. 8

    Bake the Cookies

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers are still soft.

  3. 9

    Cool the Cookies

Remove the baking sheets from the oven and let the cookies cool on the sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
