Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Carrots

Peel and chop the carrots into small pieces. Place them in a pot of boiling water and cook until tender, about 10-15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Mash the Carrots

Drain the carrots and mash them until smooth. You can use a potato masher or a food processor for a finer texture.

  3. 3

    Mix Butter and Sugar

In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Combine this mixture with the mashed carrots in a large bowl.

Egg Mixture

  1. 4

    Prepare the Egg Mixture

In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and then whisk in the milk and vanilla extract until well combined.

  2. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Gradually add the egg mixture to the carrot mixture, stirring continuously until fully incorporated.

Seasoning

  1. 6

    Season the Mixture

Add salt and black pepper to the carrot and egg mixture. Stir well to ensure even seasoning throughout.

Baking

  1. 7

    Prepare Baking Dish

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a soufflé dish or a baking dish with butter.

  2. 8

    Add Mixture to Dish

Pour the carrot soufflé mixture into the prepared baking dish, smoothing the top with a spatula.

  3. 9

    Add Topping

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the soufflé mixture.

  4. 10

    Bake the Soufflé

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and the soufflé is set in the middle.

Serving

  1. 11

    Cool and Serve

Remove the soufflé from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving. It can be enjoyed warm or at room temperature.
