Meatball Preparation

Make the Meatball Mixture
In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined.

Form Meatballs
Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake Meatballs
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through and browned.

Add Tomatoes and Spices
Add the crushed San Marzano tomatoes, chopped basil, salt, and black pepper to the pan. Stir to combine.

Simmer the Sauce
Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer and let it cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Cook Spaghetti
While the sauce simmers, cook the spaghetti according to the package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Combine Meatballs and Sauce
Once the meatballs are done, add them to the tomato sauce and stir to coat.

On each plate, serve a portion of spaghetti topped with the meatball and sauce mixture.
