Method

Custard Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Strain the Mixture

Pour the custard mixture through a fine-mesh strainer into another bowl to ensure a smooth texture. Set aside.

French Toast Cooking

  1. 3

    Soak the Bread

Dip each slice of brioche or challah bread into the custard mixture, allowing them to soak for about 15-30 seconds on each side.

  2. 4

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat the butter over medium heat until melted and slightly bubbling.

  3. 5

    Cook the French Toast

Place the soaked bread slices in the skillet, cooking for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.

Plating and Serving

  1. 6

    Prepare the Toppings

While the French toast is cooking, wash and slice the strawberries. Rinse the blueberries and mint leaves.

  2. 7

    Plate the French Toast

Once cooked, place the French toast on plates. Top with fresh strawberries, blueberries, and a sprinkle of mint leaves.

  3. 8

    Add Maple Syrup

Drizzle maple syrup over the top of the French toast and serve immediately.
