Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until it becomes frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.

  3. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Make a well in the center of the flour mixture and pour in the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  4. 4

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  5. 5

    Let Dough Rise

Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Assembling the Bianco

  1. 6

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).

  2. 7

    Shape Dough

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.

  3. 8

    Add Ricotta

Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the rolled-out dough.

  4. 9

    Add Mozzarella and Parmesan

Tear the fresh mozzarella into pieces and sprinkle over the ricotta. Add the Parmesan cheese on top.

  5. 10

    Season

Sprinkle sea salt and cracked black pepper over the toppings.

  6. 11

    Bake

Transfer the assembled pizza to a baking sheet or pizza stone and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.

  7. 12

    Add Fresh Basil

Remove from the oven and immediately top with fresh basil leaves and a drizzle of olive oil before serving.
