Preparing the Salad Base

  1. 1

    Wash Lettuce

Wash the Romaine lettuce thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit.

  2. 2

    Dry Lettuce

Dry the lettuce using a salad spinner or pat it dry with paper towels.

  3. 3

    Chop Lettuce

Chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces and place it in a large salad bowl.

Making Croutons

  1. 4

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. 5

    Cube Bread

Cut the French bread into cubes, about 1 inch in size.

  3. 6

    Coat Bread

In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, olive oil, garlic powder, and salt. Toss until the bread is evenly coated.

  4. 7

    Spread on Baking Sheet

Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer.

  5. 8

    Bake Croutons

Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, stirring halfway through.

  6. 9

    Cool Croutons

Remove from oven and let them cool before adding to the salad.

Making Caesar Dressing

  1. 10

    Combine Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 11

    Whisk Dressing

Whisk the ingredients together until well blended and smooth.

  3. 12

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the dressing and adjust the seasoning with additional salt and black pepper if necessary.

Assembling the Salad

  1. 13

    Add Lettuce

Add the chopped Romaine lettuce to a large serving bowl.

  2. 14

    Dress Lettuce

Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss to coat evenly.

  3. 15

    Add Croutons

Add the croutons on top of the salad.

  4. 16

    Garnish

Sprinkle additional Parmesan cheese on top if desired.

  5. 17
