Method

Meatballs

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meatball Mixture

In a bowl, combine ground pork, ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, egg, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Shape the Meatballs

Form the mixture into meatballs about 1 inch in diameter.

  3. 3

    Cook the Meatballs

In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 5-7 minutes. Remove and set aside.

Tomato Sauce

  1. 4

    Prepare the Sauce

In the same skillet, add more olive oil if necessary and sauté chopped onion until translucent. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.

  2. 5

    Add Tomatoes

Pour in the canned crushed tomatoes, salt, black pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir to combine.

  3. 6

    Simmer

Return the meatballs to the skillet and let the sauce simmer for about 15 minutes to meld flavors.

Sourdough Bread

  1. 7

    Grill the Sourdough

In a separate skillet or on a grill, melt butter and toast the sourdough slices until golden brown on both sides.

Serve

  1. 8

    Plate the Dish

Serve meatballs in tomato sauce with grilled sourdough on the side.
