    Prepare the Tomato Sauce

    In a medium saucepan over medium heat, heat the olive oil. Add the minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Add the San Marzano tomatoes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for about 15 minutes, breaking the tomatoes apart with a spoon until the sauce thickens.

    Cook the Gnocchi

    While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook according to package instructions, typically about 2-3 minutes or until they float to the surface. Drain the gnocchi and set aside.

    Once the sauce has thickened, stir in the fresh basil leaves. Add the cooked gnocchi to the sauce, gently tossing to coat. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese.
