Preparation of Ingredients

1

Press the Tofu

Place the tofu block between two plates and weight it down with something heavy (like a can) for about 15 minutes to remove excess moisture.

2

Chop the Vegetables

While the tofu is pressing, peel and dice the jicama into small cubes. Slice the cucumbers into thin rounds. Halve the avocado, remove the pit, and scoop the flesh out with a spoon before dicing.

3

Chop the Cilantro

Rinse the cilantro under running water, shake off excess water, and chop roughly.

Cooking the Tofu

4

Cube the Tofu

Once the tofu is pressed, cut it into bite-sized cubes.

5

Sauté the Tofu

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the cubed tofu and cook for about 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally until golden brown.

6

Season the Tofu

Add soy sauce, lime juice, salt, and black pepper to the skillet with the tofu. Stir well to coat the tofu evenly and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.

Assembly

7

Combine Ingredients

In a large serving bowl, combine the sautéed tofu, jicama, cucumbers, avocado, and cilantro. Toss gently to mix everything together.

8

Serve

Serve immediately as a refreshing salad or as a filling for wraps. Enjoy!
