Method

Brewing the Tea

1

Boil Water

In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a rolling boil over high heat.

2

Steep Tea

Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat and add 4 tsp of black tea leaves. Cover and let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.

3

Strain Tea

After steeping, strain the tea into a heatproof pitcher to remove the tea leaves.

Sweetening the Tea

4

Add Sweetener

If desired, stir in 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar or honey while the tea is still warm to help it dissolve.

Cooling the Tea

5

Cool Down

Allow the brewed tea to cool to room temperature. This may take about 15-20 minutes.

Serving the Iced Tea

6

Prepare Glasses

In serving glasses, add 1/2 cup of ice cubes to each glass.

7

Pour Tea

Once the tea is cool, pour it over the ice in each glass.

8

Garnish (Optional)

Garnish with a slice of lemon and a few fresh mint leaves for added flavor and presentation.
