Method

Burger Patties

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patties

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chorizo, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until just combined. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patties

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have a nice sear. Remove from heat and let them rest.

Shoestring Fries

  1. 3

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin shoestring slices. Soak them in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  2. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Drain the potatoes and pat them dry. Fry in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt.

Spicy Mayo

  1. 5

    Make the Spicy Mayo

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, Sriracha sauce, and lemon juice. Mix well until fully incorporated. Adjust the spice level by adding more Sriracha if desired.

Burger Assembly

  1. 6

    Assemble the Frita

Toast the burger buns lightly. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a burger patty, a slice of tomato, and a generous amount of shoestring fries. Drizzle with spicy mayo and top with the other half of the bun.
