Cocktail

Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill Glass (optional)

Place a coupe or martini glass in the freezer for about 5–10 minutes while you prepare the cocktail to keep it cold and maintain the velvety texture.

  2. 2

Add vodka, white crème de cacao, heavy cream, half-and-half, and vanilla simple syrup (if using) into a cocktail shaker.

  3. 3

Fill the shaker with the ice cubes and secure the lid.

  4. 4

Dry shake for 8–10 seconds without ice (optional) to begin emulsifying the cream for a richer mouthfeel, then add ice and shake vigorously for 12–15 seconds until the shaker is very cold to the touch and the exterior shows frost.

  5. 5

Double strain the cocktail into the chilled coupe or martini glass using both the shaker strainer and a fine mesh strainer to remove any tiny ice shards and ensure a silky texture.

Garnish

  1. 6

Lightly grate or sprinkle the white chocolate shavings over the surface of the cocktail. If using, add a very light pinch of freshly grated nutmeg on top for a subtle aroma.

  2. 7

    Serve immediately while cold.
