Syrup & Flavor

Method

Syrup & Flavor

1

Measure flavor base

In a small measuring cup or mixing glass, combine 2 tablespoons pomegranate syrup, 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice, and 1 teaspoon simple syrup. Stir briskly until fully combined. Taste and adjust sweetness by adding up to 1 teaspoon more simple syrup if desired.

Assemble Italian Soda

2

Fill a tall glass about three-quarters full with crushed ice (approximately 1 cup).

3

Pour the pomegranate-lemon mixture over the ice, letting it settle at the bottom.

4

Slowly pour 8 ounces of chilled club soda or sparkling water over the back of a spoon or down the side of the glass to preserve effervescence and create a layered look. Pour until the glass is nearly full, leaving about 1/2 inch at the top.

5

Gently stir 1–2 times with a bar spoon to distribute the flavor without flattening the carbonation. If you prefer a stronger pomegranate flavor, stir more thoroughly.

Garnish & Serve

6

Garnish with a lemon wheel on the rim, scatter 1 tablespoon pomegranate arils on top if using, and add a mint sprig for aroma. Serve immediately with a straw.
