Method
General Preparation
Choose Base
Decide which Ice Rage version you want to make: coffee, tea, fruit, or another beverage. Use the corresponding base section from the ingredients list. All versions follow the same blending process with slight ingredient swaps.
Chill liquids
Brew coffee or tea strong (about double strength) and allow it to cool to room temperature, then chill in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes. For fruit versions, use cold juice or chilled water to keep the blend cold.
Make a Coffee Ice Rage
Combine ingredients
In a high-speed blender add 1 cup cooled strong coffee, 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons simple syrup, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1.5 cups ice. If making mocha, add 1 teaspoon cocoa powder; if adding protein, add powder now.
Pulse 3–5 times to break up large ice chunks, then blend on high for 20–30 seconds until the mixture is smooth and thick but drinkable. If too thin, add 1/4 cup more ice and blend 10–15 seconds more. If too thick, add 1–2 tablespoons chilled coffee or milk and blend briefly.
Taste and adjust sweetness or flavorings (add more simple syrup, vanilla, or caramel).
Make a Tea Ice Rage
In a blender combine 1 cup cooled strong tea, 1/2 cup milk or milk alternative, 2 tablespoons honey or simple syrup, and 1.5 cups ice. For matcha, dissolve 1 teaspoon matcha in 2 tablespoons hot water first, let cool, then add to blender.
Make a Fruit Ice Rage
Place 1 cup fresh or frozen fruit, 1/2 cup fruit juice or water, 1 tablespoon honey or agave, and 1.5 cups ice in the blender. For bananas or very sweet fruit, reduce sweetener.
Pulse to crush ice, then blend 20–40 seconds until a thick smoothie-like texture is achieved. If seeds or pulp are undesirable, strain briefly through a fine mesh. Pour into a glass and garnish with a fruit slice or mint.
Tips & Troubleshooting
Texture control: More ice or frozen fruit gives a thicker, slushier 'Ice Rage.' More liquid makes it thinner and easier to sip. Use crushed ice for a denser mouthfeel.
Make ahead: Blend base and store in the fridge for up to 24 hours, but ice texture will be lost. For best results, blend immediately before serving.
Scaling: Multiply ingredient quantities linearly for multiple servings and use a blender large enough to maintain adequate blade immersion.
