Cocktail Preparation

   Prepare the Glass

   Take an old fashioned glass and place it on a flat surface.

   Muddle the Sugar

   In the glass, add the sugar cube and dashes of Angostura bitters. Muddle them together using a muddler or the back of a spoon until the sugar dissolves.

   Add the Bourbon

   Pour 2 ounces of bourbon into the glass over the muddled sugar and bitters.

   Add Ice

   Add 3 ice cubes to the glass, allowing them to float in the bourbon mixture.

   Garnish

   Express the oils of an orange peel over the drink by twisting it above the glass. Then, drop the peel into the cocktail. Optionally, add a maraschino cherry for garnish.

   Stir and Serve

   Stir the cocktail gently to combine the flavors. Serve immediately.
