Oil Infusion
Method
Preparing the Garlic Infused Oil
- 1
Infuse the Oil
In a small saucepan, combine the olive oil and garlic cloves. Place the saucepan over low heat. Allow the garlic to slowly infuse the oil for about 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally. The garlic should become fragrant and golden, but not browned.
- 2
Add Seasoning
Once the garlic is infused, add red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to the oil. Stir well to combine. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 3
Strain the Oil
After cooling, strain the oil through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, discarding the garlic cloves. Set the infused oil aside for drizzling later.
Cooking the Broccolini
- 4
Preheat the Grill or Oven
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, or preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 5
Prepare the Broccolini
Rinse the broccolini under cold water and trim the ends if necessary. Pat dry with a paper towel.
- 6
Char the Broccolini
Place the broccolini on the grill or a baking sheet if using the oven. Drizzle with a bit of the garlic-infused oil and season with salt and black pepper. Grill or roast for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until the broccolini is tender and has charred spots.
- 7
Serve
Transfer the charred broccolini to a serving platter and drizzle with additional garlic-infused oil before serving. Enjoy!
