Method
Coffee Preparation
- 1
Heat water
Bring fresh water to a boil, then remove from heat and let sit 30 seconds to reach about 200°F (93°C). You need about 12 oz (approximately 350 ml) for one serving.
- 2
Measure and grind coffee
Measure 2 tablespoons of coffee beans (approximately 10–12 g) and grind to a medium grind. If using pre-ground, use 2 level tablespoons.
- 3
Brew (pour-over / French press / drip)
Choose your brewing method: - Pour-over: Place a paper filter in your dripper, rinse with hot water and discard rinse. Add the ground coffee. Pour a small amount of hot water to bloom (just enough to wet grounds) and wait 30 seconds. Continue pouring in slow concentric circles until you reach 12 oz total. Total brew time ~3–4 minutes. - French press: Add grounds to the press, pour half the hot water and let bloom 30 seconds, then pour remaining water. Stir gently, place lid with plunger pulled up, steep 3:30–4 minutes, then press slowly. - Drip machine: Add grounds to filter and start machine; collect approximately 12 oz of brewed coffee. Adjust grind/brew time slightly if coffee tastes too weak or too bitter.
- 4
Serve
Pour the brewed coffee into a pre-warmed mug. Taste before adding extras.
