Cocktail

1

Prepare glass

Optional: Run a lime wedge around the rim of a highball or Collins glass. Dip the rim into a small plate of salt or Tajín to coat evenly. Fill the glass about two-thirds full with cubed ice.

2

Build cocktail

In a shaker (no need to dry-shake), combine 2 oz tequila, 2 oz fresh grapefruit juice, 0.5 oz fresh lime juice, and 0.5 oz agave syrup. Add a small handful of ice (about 4-6 medium cubes).

3

Shake & strain

Shake vigorously for about 10-12 seconds until chilled and slightly diluted. Strain the mixture into the prepared glass over the ice already in the glass.

4

Top with soda

Top the strained cocktail with about 2 oz club soda (or grapefruit soda if you prefer a sweeter, more pronounced grapefruit flavor). Gently stir once to combine — a single gentle stir preserves carbonation.

5

Garnish & serve

Garnish with a grapefruit wheel or wedge and a lime wheel or wedge. Serve immediately with a straw if desired.

6

Notes

Adjust sweetness by increasing or decreasing agave by 0.25–0.5 oz. For a bigger batch, keep the ratio: tequila 2 parts : grapefruit juice 2 parts : lime juice 0.5 part : agave 0.5 part and top each glass with soda.
