1. Preparation

Remove the Omi Wagyu beef from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes before cooking. This allows for even cooking.

2. Seasoning

Generously season both sides of the steak with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.

3. Searing the Steak

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the seasoned Omi Wagyu steak to the skillet. Sear for 2-3 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved.

4. Basting the Steak

In the last minute of cooking, add the butter, garlic cloves, and fresh thyme to the skillet. Use a spoon to baste the melted butter over the steak for added flavor.

5. Resting

Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

6. Serving

Slice the steak against the grain and serve it immediately, optionally garnished with additional thyme.
