Appetizer

Method

Appetizer

  1. 1

    Prepare the Asparagus

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Toss the asparagus with olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper. Arrange on a baking sheet and roast for 15 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Parmesan

Remove from oven, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and return to oven for an additional 5 minutes, until cheese is melted.

Main Course

  1. 3

    Cook the Duck

Score the skin of the duck breast and season with salt and pepper. Heat a skillet over medium heat and place duck skin-side down. Cook for about 6-8 minutes until the skin is crispy.

  2. 4

    Glaze the Duck

Flip the duck and cook for another 4-5 minutes. Remove duck and let rest. In the same pan, add honey, balsamic vinegar, and thyme, scraping up any bits from the pan.

  3. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

Sauté seasonal vegetables in the duck fat remaining in the pan until tender.

Dessert

  1. 6

    Melt Chocolate

In a saucepan, melt dark chocolate and butter over low heat, stirring until smooth.

  2. 7

    Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, whisk together sugar and eggs until light and fluffy. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture, flour, and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.

  3. 8

    Bake the Cake

Pour the batter into a greased baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
