Method

Cocktail

  1. 1

    Chill glass

Place a martini or coupe glass in the freezer for 5–10 minutes, or fill it with ice water while you prepare the drink to ensure the cocktail stays cold.

  2. 2

    Combine and chill

Add ice to a cocktail shaker until about two-thirds full. Pour in 2 oz Svedka cherry vodka, 1 oz peach schnapps, and 1.5 oz cranberry juice. If using, add 0.25 oz fresh lime juice and 0.25 tsp simple syrup to balance tartness and sweetness.

  3. 3

    Shake

Secure the shaker lid and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker feels very cold. This both chills and slightly dilutes the drink for proper balance.

  4. 4

    Strain and serve

Discard the ice or water from the chilled glass. Double-strain the cocktail into the chilled martini/coupe glass using the shaker strainer (and a fine strainer if you added fresh lime juice to catch pulp).

  5. 5

    Garnish

Garnish with a maraschino cherry dropped into the drink or a lime wheel on the rim. Serve immediately.

  6. 6

    Notes

Adjust cranberry quantity up to 2 oz for a fruitier, less boozy drink, or down to 1 oz for a stronger martini profile. Omit lime and simple syrup for a simpler, fruit-forward flavor.
