Method
Preparing the Carne Asada
- 1
Marinate the Steak
In a bowl, combine the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Whisk together until well mixed. Place the flank steak in a large resealable bag and pour the marinade over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.
- 2
Grill the Steak
Preheat the grill to high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and allow excess marinade to drip off. Grill the steak for about 5-7 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is achieved. Use a meat thermometer for accuracy (130-135°F for medium-rare).
- 3
Assembling the Tacos
- 4
Prepare the Tortillas
Warm the corn tortillas on the grill for about 30 seconds on each side until soft and pliable.
- 5
Build the Tacos
Place a few slices of grilled carne asada in the center of each tortilla. Top with diced tomatoes, red onion, fresh cilantro, and avocado slices.
- 6
Serve
Serve the tacos with lime wedges on the side for squeezing over the top. Enjoy your delicious carne asada tacos!
