Method
Prepare Ingredients
Measure and bloom gelatin
Measure 4 tsp unflavored gelatin into a small heatproof bowl. Pour 1 tbsp cold water over the gelatin and stir gently to ensure all granules are moistened. Let sit 3–5 minutes until gelatin has absorbed the water and appears spongy (bloomed).
Measure 1 cup filtered water in a small saucepan. Separately measure the colostrum powder (2 tbsp), honey or maple syrup (2 tbsp), vitamin C powder (if using), pinch of sea salt, and vanilla extract so everything is ready to go.
Heat & Combine
Warm liquid base
Set the saucepan with 1 cup filtered water over low–medium heat. Warm gently until it is steaming and just begins to shimmer—do not boil. Keep heat low to protect delicate bioactives in colostrum.
Dissolve sweetener and vitamin C
Whisk in the honey (or maple syrup) and vitamin C powder into the warm water until fully dissolved. Remove the pan from direct heat and let the surface stop bubbling but remain hot (about 120–130°F / 49–54°C if using a thermometer).
Add bloomed gelatin
Add the bloomed gelatin to the warm liquid and whisk continuously until the gelatin is completely dissolved and the mixture is smooth, about 1–2 minutes. Keep temperature moderate — avoid boiling.
Incorporate Colostrum & Flavor
Cool slightly and add colostrum
Allow the gelatin mixture to cool for 2–3 minutes off the heat so it's warm but not hot (target under 110°F / 43°C). Stir in the 2 tbsp grass-fed colostrum powder until fully dispersed and no lumps remain. Gentle whisking ensures an even suspension without overheating the colostrum.
Stir in the lemon (or orange) juice, vanilla extract, pinch of sea salt, and the optional 1 tsp glycerin or liposomal gel. The glycerin will keep gummies softer and give a glossy finish.
Molding & Setting
Prepare molds
Lightly coat silicone molds with a tiny amount of neutral oil or nonstick spray if desired for easier release. Place molds on a flat tray to keep them level when transferring to the fridge.
Fill molds
Working quickly while the mixture is still pourable, use a small measuring cup or dropper to fill the silicone molds. Tap the mold tray gently on the counter to release any air bubbles and level the surface.
Transfer the tray to the refrigerator and chill until fully set, about 1–2 hours. For firmer gummies, refrigerate 2–3 hours. Do not freeze — freezing can damage gelatin structure and may reduce colostrum efficacy.
Unmolding & Storage
Unmold
Once set, gently pop the gummies from the silicone molds. If a few are sticky, dust lightly with a small pinch of cornstarch or arrowroot (optional) and shake off excess.
Store
Store gummies in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. For longer shelf life (up to 4 weeks), keep in the coldest part of the fridge and ensure minimal air exposure. Avoid heat and direct sunlight to preserve colostrum bioactivity.
Label container with dosage guidance (e.g., 1–2 gummies daily or as directed) and keep out of reach of children if dosing differs from pediatric recommendations.
