Base Ingredients

Method

Preparing the Coffee

  1. 1

    Brew the Coffee

Brew a strong cup of coffee using your preferred method. Allow it to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Mix in Liqueur

If using, mix in the coffee liqueur into the brewed coffee and set aside.

Cream Mixture Preparation

  1. 3

    Whisk Egg Yolks and Sugar

In a large bowl, whisk together the egg yolks and granulated sugar until well combined and slightly pale in color.

  2. 4

    Incorporate Mascarpone

Add the mascarpone cheese to the egg mixture and mix until smooth and creamy.

  3. 5

    Whip the Heavy Cream

In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

  4. 6

    Fold in the Cream

Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until fully combined and creamy.

Assembling Tiramisu

  1. 7

    Soak the Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the brewed coffee (make sure not to soak them too long) and place them in a 9x9 inch dish.

  2. 8

    Layer the Cream Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone cream mixture over the soaked ladyfingers.

  3. 9

    Repeat Layers

Add another layer of soaked ladyfingers on top, followed by the remaining cream mixture.

Finishing Touches

  1. 10

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (preferably overnight) to set.

  2. 11

    Dust with Cocoa Powder

Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder and optional chocolate shavings.
