Method
Cocktail
- 1
Prepare the shaker
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice to properly chill and dilute the drink.
- 2
Combine ingredients
Add 2 oz Pau Maui vodka, 3 oz guava juice, 0.75 oz fresh lime juice, 0.75 oz coconut cream, 0.25 oz simple syrup (if using), and 2 dashes orange bitters into the shaker.
- 3
Dry shake (optional)
If your coconut cream is thick or you want a creamier, frothier texture, briefly shake the ingredients without ice for 8–10 seconds to emulsify.
- 4
Wet shake
Add crushed ice to the shaker (or shake with the ice already inside if you skipped the dry shake) and shake vigorously for 10–15 seconds, until the outside of the shaker is frosty and well chilled.
- 5
Strain and serve
Double-strain the cocktail into a chilled Collins or tiki glass filled with fresh crushed ice to keep the texture silky and remove any pulp or ice shards.
Garnish
- 6
Float or place a dehydrated orange wheel or fresh orange slice on top of the crushed ice.
- 7
Sprinkle the toasted coconut flakes over the top for aroma and texture, and tuck a small mint sprig at the side for a fresh accent, if desired.
- 8
Serve with a straw and enjoy immediately while cold.
