Wontons
Method
Wontons Preparation
- 1
Prepare Kabocha Squash Filling
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Cut the kabocha squash in half, remove the seeds, and place it cut-side down on a baking sheet. Roast for about 30-40 minutes until tender. Scoop out the flesh and mash it in a bowl.
- 2
Make the Filling
In the bowl with the mashed kabocha squash, add cream cheese, chopped green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 3
Assemble Wontons
Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 tablespoon of the filling in the center. Moisten the edges with water, fold the wrapper over to form a triangle, and press to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
- 4
Cook the Wontons
Boil a large pot of water. Add the wontons and cook for about 4-5 minutes until they float to the top. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain.
