Combine Base Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the sugar is completely dissolved.

Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and place it in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until thoroughly chilled.
Churning

Prepare Ice Cream Maker
Set up your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Ensure the bowl is frozen if required.

Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into the ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 20-25 minutes, until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

If desired, add your choice of chocolate chips, crushed cookies, or fruit puree during the last 5 minutes of churning.
Freezing
