Grilled Cheese Sandwich

Method

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ingredients

Gather all the ingredients: sliced bread, cheddar cheese, and butter.

  2. 2

    Butter the Bread

Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.

  3. 3

    Assemble the Sandwich

Place two slices of bread butter-side-down on a clean surface. Layer cheese slices on top, then place the other two slices of bread on top, butter-side-up.

  4. 4

    Grill the Sandwich

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Once hot, place the sandwich in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown, then carefully flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted.

  5. 5

    Slice and Serve

Remove the sandwich from the skillet, slice it in half, and set aside.

French Fries

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips to resemble fries.

  2. 7

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps remove excess starch and makes them crispier.

  3. 8

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  4. 9

    Fry the Potatoes

Drain the soaked fries and pat them dry with a paper towel. Carefully add them to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 5-7 minutes until they are golden brown.

  5. 10

    Season the Fries

Remove the fries from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil. While they are still hot, sprinkle with salt, paprika, and pepper to taste.

  6. 11

    Serve

Serve the fries warm alongside the grilled cheese sandwich.
